The BBQ and friends

Yesterday was a nice, cool day. I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be but at least I was stressed. My friend invited me over her house to cook some wings and hot dogs. They were so good. We had the radio blasting and we were talking about a bunch of nothing and throwing stick like little kids.

My homie is addicted to playing Angry Birds, as you can see to the left AND the right!

9/18/11 -- Cooper Young Festival

I am just now posting this due to busy, random commitments, activities, and etc but this day was good and bad.  First, I took the Praxis Exam, Reading Section at noon. I was so pissed because the state requires a 174 and I scored a 172. I was pissed and happy at the same time. I couldn't believe I was so close to passing. I'll try again in 30 days. Afterwards, I went to the Cooper and Young Fesitval with my mother and homie. I was so fun. The music was great. It was too crowded and my hot, spicy wings were so delicious. My ma and homie were craving funnel cakes. I ran into a good ol' friend at the festival as well and I was soooo happy to see her. Then later that night, my homie and I went and hung with some friends and had couple of drinks.

Yes, the day ended well. Here are a few pics from the festival...

Change happens in a matter of seconds; My old college roommate!

So, there has been a dramatic change in my life. I withdrew from all my classes and resigned from my job. To make a long story short (because I'm too lazy to go into details) I was taking 4 classes in grad school and one class demanded unrealistic, large amount of school work, couldn't find time to study for the Praxis exam, and my job was demanding too much time. I had to withdrew from this class because I didn't want an F on my transcript when knowing I can do A work, plus I needed more time to study for the Praxis, and the job was beginning to be stressful. God doesn't want us to have a stressful life. He doesn't put more on us than we can bear; WE, humans, put more on us than we can bear. But I refused and I feel I made a big decisions that was best for me.

So now I'm free to explore life a little bit more. I want to take on new experiences and discover what is hidden from me. I have more to be more involved with God and spirituality. Some of my friends asked me "What about work?" What about it? I'm not worried about it. I know I will find work. My faith is so high in the Lord! I will be applying for full time jobs anywhere in the South. Wherever God wants to take me, I'll go.

I told my old roommate what happen and we both understand how God works: mysteriously! One of my closes friends ever and always been so supportive. When we were in school together, the only thing that was going on in my life was God, me, and my roomie! We sang together, prayed together, road the city bus together, and just laughed together. Here are some silly pics of us in the dorm apartment during her freshman and my sophomore year in 2005! We look soooo young!

This is us after we went our separates ways. She came to visit me at my new school. And again silly as usual!

I was about 21 years old in this pic. I look like I'm 19 though.

Man! We look super young!

Reasons why I'm a Tiger! GO TIGERS GO! I bleed blue & graaaaaay!

It's homecoming week and even though the football team sucks, I'm STILL proud of my school!

Haven't blog in a minute!

I have so much to show and say. I shall do so later tonight! As of now, I am studying for the Praxis I Math exam. I don't feel confident but I'm not worried either. I am still ALL SMILES! It's quite cool and chilly in my city, so I have on these great fuzzies on my feet!

My fascination with New York pics and others...

I love looking at cities with skyscrapers at night, especially Time Square. Here are a few pics I've collected and used at my desktop pics...

This evening.

Today is good so far. Work was pretty cool. I had to speak with some residents who are also my desk assistants about following hall policies. Then my RA's had in-service today. In-service is a time of different workshops that will help the RA's along in the future.

For dinner I had Digiorno chicken pizza and it was sooo good!

At the end of work, I found out that my school was having a poster sale. I quickly ran over and these are the posters I bought for $20:

This poster is going in my bedroom.

Giving this picture to my homie. Visit her blog page:

The Spirit of Yah

When His presence is near, it's such a peaceful feeling. Just to think of the love that Jesus brings chills to my soul. I am thankful. I don't deserve the grace given unto me. :)

Labor Day

Labor Day started off on an emotional roller coaster. However, I figured out why: the monthly visitor. Anyway, I saw an old friend today and we went to Target for a moment. I can't believe how much I like being around him. Afterwards, I came in and hooked up with my mother. We went grocery shopping and ended up over my bff's house. My bff's kids are so funny and full of energy. I love them so much.

And here they are....

I went shopping today.

Since I got my school refund check and paycheck, I've been doing a little shopping and catching up on bills. First of all, I bought a simple computer desk. It took about 30 minutes to build. I'm excited to do some actual schoolwork on it! I feel the the desk will make me feel studious and actually want to learn!

I bought the two dresses and top from Ross. The store always have the RIGHT price, meaning the cheap price! Be careful on what article of clothing you buy; some material has good quality while some doesn't.

The shirt was $7. I like wearing dresses though. The blue dress was $10 and the other $15. It's almost as if you're wearing nothing, and in the hot weather of Memphis, these dresses are PERFECT!

It was way over due for a pair of tennis shoes and flats. I haven't bought a pair of tennis shoes in exactly TWO years! And, I haven't bought a pair of flats in ONE year!

The Shoe Rack Room was having a BOGO sale!

And of course, jewerly from Charlotte Russe! What girl doesn't like Charlotte Russe jewelry???

Best Friend Necklaces! Yes, I am giving my BFF the other half!

Vintage. Old School. 70's look. Whatever you wanna call it. I like it and it rocks well with just about anything.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, MY HANDY-DANDY 5-HR SHOTS!
Gotta stay focus for grad school!
